The Country Director of Lead One Africa, Ghana, Mr. Kingsley Ampadu delivered a speech at the Homecoming ceremony of Amasaman Senior High Technical School in Accra, on Thursday, 3rd December, 2015 at the school premises.
The Director spoke on the topic “Positive Mental Attitude in choosing a career”. He focused his speech on the need to identify yourself when choosing a career. Under self-identification, he stressed on three key areas:
- Identifying your Interest: Learning about your interest helps you to identify opportunity to pursue topics you are most naturally drawn to. Making school and work more motivating and enjoyable.
- Values are the things that motivate us and move us toward certain decisions, behaviour and goals. Values influence the career decision making process and job satisfaction.
- Skills are the things that you are good at and have the ability to do well. Assessing your skills allows you to determine which ones you want to acquire or further develop and how your skills match your potential careers.
There were other speeches by recognised career building professionals and old students of the school.
Lead One Africa is a nonprofit corporation focused on developing leadership skills in students in Sub Sahara Africa.
